Transport Strategy

Transportation and mobility Al Hai Al Thaqafi Project

In the Al Hai Al Thaqafi Master Planning Project, the transportation and mobility section designed by Sheher Saaz supports a smart city infrastructure. The plan includes three levels of public transport: local services for residents, dedicated routes for visitors to heritage sites, and intercity and international connections. To accommodate the increasing number of visitors, the plan includes an airport and rail network. The city pioneers an eco-friendly transportation system, with bus terminals featuring electric vehicle charging points to support a dynamic, low-emission transport network. The infrastructure offers efficient parking for cabs, shaded bicycle paths, service roads, and a High Access Corridor to ensure seamless mobility. The road network is comprehensive, designed to meet the needs of both residents and visitors while prioritizing sustainability.

Mapping Environmental and Socio-Economic Profile Along BRT Corridor 1 in Lahore

In many cities in the developing world, public transport infrastructure has not kept up with dramatic urban growth. Car ownership is growing rapidly among wealthier households, increasing congestion and emissions, and potentially leading to patterns of land use that make access difficult for the poor. To address these challenges, more than a hundred cities in the developing world have recently built mass transit systems. Lahore is one of those lucky cities to have a running BRT system. The client intended mapping of environmental and social economic profile along BRT corridor 1 from Gajumatta to Shahdara in Lahore. The environmental factors in any sort of plan are important to consider because they have long term effects on the health of city and citizens.
